Classic Kalamata Olive Tapenade

Rich, salty and full of Mediterranean flavor, this simple olive tapenade combines Kalamata olives, capers, garlic, lemon and fresh basil.

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅔ cups pitted Kalamata olives
  • 3 tbsp capers
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh basil, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 3–4 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, optional
  • SeedBoost crackers, for serving

How to Make It

  1. Add the Kalamata olives, capers, garlic and fresh basil to a food processor or blender.
  2. Pulse until the ingredients form a coarse paste, leaving some texture.
  3. Add the lemon juice and freshly cracked black pepper.
  4. For a smoother, richer consistency, add olive oil a little at a time until the tapenade reaches your preferred texture.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with crispy SeedBoost.

You can also prepare the tapenade using a mortar and pestle for a more rustic texture.

Sun-Dried Tomato & Olive Tapenade

For a colorful twist on the classic, sun-dried tomatoes add richness, subtle sweetness and even more Mediterranean flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅔ cups pitted black olives
  • ¾–⅞ cup sun-dried tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp oil from the sun-dried tomatoes
  • Fresh basil, to taste
  • SeedBoost crackers, for serving

How to Make It

  1. Add the olives, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil to a food processor or blender.
  2. Pulse until everything is finely chopped but still slightly textured.
  3. Add the lemon juice and mix again.
  4. Add a little of the reserved oil from the sun-dried tomatoes until the tapenade reaches your preferred consistency.
  5. Spoon into a serving bowl and serve alongside SeedBoost.

An Easy Addition to Any Appetizer Board

Tapenade is one of those recipes that delivers plenty of flavor without requiring much preparation.

Serve one version on its own, or make both and place them side by side on a grazing board with SeedBoost, fresh vegetables, cheese and other favorite appetizers.

The crisp texture of SeedBoost pairs especially well with the rich olive-based spreads, making these an easy option for entertaining—or simply upgrading an everyday snack.
